Illustration, primarily for children’s publishing

Background

Born in 1955, brought up in Coventry and now living in Cheshire (England), I originally qualified and worked as an Architect before retraining as an illustrator.

Whilst a degree student, I was joint winner of the Macmillan Prize for Children’s Illustration (2005) with an unpublished work ‘Alice and the Lost Dog’.

Since graduating I have illustrated six books for Frances Lincoln Ltd including ‘ABC UK’ (2008) a critically acclaimed alphabet book of all things British.

In 2005 I also set up a social enterprise developing and publishing illustrated books for people with dementia www.picturestoshare.co.uk

I have three grown up children, five small grandchildren, two small dogs and one long suffering husband.
